Senior Minister of State for National Development and Education, Ms Grace Fu, was the Guest-of-Honour at HDB’s inaugural retail seminar and launch of its new website, “Where2Shop@HDB”.
Where2Shop@HDB is a new website that provides comprehensive information about HDB shops in 148 Town / Neighbourhood Centres and Neighbourhood Complexes island-wide. Accessible via the HDB Infoweb at www.hdb.gov.sg/where2shop, it will make it easier and more convenient for residents and customers to search for products and services provided by heartland shops.
The main features of Where2Shop@HDB include the following:
- Customers can search for popular products and services via quick links, e.g. eating house, supermarket, clinic, fast food, cake shop, hairdressing salon, market and food centres
- It will provide the address, shop name, and trade of all HDB shops so that customers can search for them by town, address, shop name and trade
- It will indicate the bus numbers in service and specific MRT/LRT stations near the Town / Neighbourhood Centres and Neighbourhood Complexes. A map is also provided to guide customers to the shops
- It will highlight the available facilities in the vicinity and other interesting characteristics of the Town / Neighbourhood Centres and Neighbourhood Complexes, e.g. community clubs, schools, library, market and hawker centre, Government offices, places of worship, etc.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence Teo Chee Hean officiated at the launch ceremony of the Republic of Singapore Navy’s (RSN) first Archer-class submarine, RSS Archer, at the Kockums Shipyard in Karlskrona, Sweden, on 16 Jun 2009. The submarine was launched by Mrs Teo Chee Hean.
Sweden’s State Secretary for Defence, Håkan Jevrell, State Secretary for Trade and former Commander of the 1st Submarine Flotilla in the Royal Swedish Navy (RSwN), Gunnar Wieslander, and senior defence officials from both countries attended the launch ceremony.
