Remember the man who found a baby butterfly struggling to get out of its cocoon?
He watched it struggle for a long while but it seemed stuck badly! The man immediately got scissors and cut open the cocoon. Something was strange – the butterfly just couldn’t fly. In his haste to help the butterfly, the man didn’t realize that the difficulty to get out of the cocoon was nature’s way of helping the butterfly to grow strong wings and survive in the wild.
It is a humane choice to eliminate hardships for ourselves or our mentees, but we simply take away their chance to fly high in the real world.
This week, let’s help them learn to handle tough situations by themselves.
