Singapore citizens who haven’t checked their names in the Registers of Electors are advised to do so before next Monday (March 8 2010).
Next Monday is the last day for making claims and objections to rectify any errors in the Registers. So check your name in Registers of Electors by that date.
About Register of Electors
A register of electors is a list of all qualified electors belonging to the electoral division that the register relates to. There is one register for each electoral division.
The registers of electors are compiled from records kept by the National Registration Office by applying the eligibility requirements as on a cut-off date in accordance with section 5 of the Parliamentary Elections Act (Cap. 218).
The eligibility requirements are:
- Citizenship : Must be a citizen of Singapore (holder of pink NRIC);
- Age : Must not be less than 21 years of age; and
- Residence : Must be ordinarily resident in Singapore.
