Enjoy an exciting lineup of activities: including a live concert, carnival and outdoor movie screening. Be part of the first Earth Hour Night Walk happening at Marina Bay on Saturday (26 March). Just remember to bring your picnic basket and your beeswax candles.
At the Earth Hour 2011 carnival, you can look forward to an exciting array of activities. There will be a total of 18 booths that will be selling eco-friendly products ranging from handcrafted jewelry to bags.
There will also be an arts and craft booth by ArtzHaven, a face and body painting activity by MusebArt, as well as a kite making workshop by the Singapore Kite Association and at AlphaBioFuels’ people will be able to exchange their waste cooking oil for a energy saving light bulb. And if you are hungry, Old Chang Kee curry puffs will be available for sale.
Watch your favourite artistes such as Jack and Rai, Dawn Ho, Syltra Lee, the top 3 finalists from the NEA Ecomusic Challenge and many more perform at the Earth Hour live concert. This concert is supported by Café Diplo.
At the same time, picnic under the stars and watch the lights around Marina Bay go off at 8.30 pm with your loved ones.
Earth Hour 2011 Night Walk
Get ready to walk in the dark for the first ever Earth Hour Night Walk! Lace up and join your fellow Singaporeans and our celebrity supporters which include Nadya Hutagalung, Utt, Felicia Chin, Pan Ling Ling, Huang Shi Nan and Tung Soo Hua in showing your commitment to our planet.
The Earth Hour Night Walk will commence at 8.30 pm at The Promontory @ Marina Bay. The route will pass by Marina Bay Sands, The Float@Marina Bay, Esplanade-Theatres on the Bay, One Fullerton, Clifford Pier and finally will end back at The Promontory.
Earth Hour Night Walk is approximately 3.5km long and will take about one hour to complete. Participation in the Earth Hour Night Walk comes at a fee of S$15. Children aged 12 years old and below can join for free. Participants will get an exciting goodie bag with each registration. You can register at WWF Singapore website.
If you choose not to take part in the walk, stay at the Promontory to watch the award winning documentary ‘The Age of Stupid‘.
