Remember the story of a wise man escaping two robbers by telling them the simple truth?
A wise man with scientific gifts was crossing the desert. Suddenly two gangsters confronted him. One searched the wise man and found a crystal flask filled with a liquid and a yellow glass egg. “What are these?” he asked. The wise man answered, “That’s the Philosopher’s Stone and the Elixir of Life. Whoever swallows that elixir will never be sick again, and that stone turns any metal into gold.” The gangsters laughed at him. And wise man laughed with them! Then the gangsters moved on.
“Are you crazy?” a boy nearby asked. The wise man responded. “When you possess great treasures within you, and try to tell others of them, seldom are you believed.”
This week, let’s listen carefully to the seemingly bizarre while using simple truth to remain free.
