A series of F1 road closures affecting the Marina Centre area will take place from 23 September 2009 to 29 September 2009 to facilitate the setting up and dismantling of the race infrastructure. You can view the map here.
The road closures for F1 will be implemented in phases to minimize disruption to the public. To ensure business continuity for establishments in the Marina Centre area, a limited number of pre-assigned passes have been given to the stakeholders to allow them access to their buildings via roads with restricted access control.
The following roads towards the city (1-way through traffic) will be opened to all commuters during morning peak hours (5.00 am – 9.00 am), from 23 September 2009 to 25 September 2009:
- Nicoll Highway
- Esplanade Drive
- Republic Boulevard
- Raffles Avenue
In addition to the road closures, on 22 September (Tuesday), two lanes of Esplanade Drive in both directions would be closed from 9.30am onwards to facilitate set up of the Connaught Grandstand. Traffic at this junction is expected to be slow moving when the lane closures are ongoing. Find out more on LTA website or view the map here.
