She came to my bed and said, ‘Wake up!’ I didn’t move an inch. She shouted at me, ‘Uncle, do it!’ 🙂
There is a big gap between knowledge – it is time to wake up, and the action – waking up. Often one overlooks the gap and believes that mere knowledge is the problem. For example, we know well to eat healthy and to exercise regularly, but such knowledge alone will not make us fit. The real challenge is bridging the knowledge-action gap via a gym, sports event or routine. Hiring consultants, who provide more knowledge is just a first step. Engaging coaches, who help to act-it-out is what gets results.
This week, let’s be aware of the knowledge-action gap, and look for ways to enable the desired actions – ask for help with actions and not just with knowledge.
