Remember the story of John telling his wife how great she is using vivid scenes?
Every morning, John told his wife Carol how wonderful she was, but Carol hardly took it seriously. So, John decided to innovate a new communication strategy.
The next morning, instead of saying ‘Honey, you are great’, John said, ‘Honey, this morning I saw you as you were coming around the corner on your bike with your jacket flapping in the wind and the sun in your hair, I just thought you were wonderful!’ Carol turned to him with much surprise and a big warm hug.
This week, let’s try to communicate not only with statements, but also with feelings and vivid scenery – like relaying a movie scene.
