NEA & Microsoft Launched Singapore’s First Mobile Weather Service

The National Environment Agency and Microsoft are pleased to launch Singapore’s first mobile weather service. Members of the public can now log on to Weather@SG on their mobile phones to get the latest weather information in Singapore. Weather@SG can be found at http://weather.nea.gov.sg.

Weather@SG provides the public with timely weather information any time, anywhere, right at their fingertips. From now on, planning a picnic, a run, or any other outdoor activities can be less stressful, thanks to the ability to predict the weather anywhere from three hours to three days in advance.

The weather information and forecasts are provided by Meteorological Services of NEA and are updated every five minutes. The mapping data, which are customised for use in Weather@SG, are created from Microsoft Bing Map (previously called Microsoft Virtual Map).
