Extra! Extra!Remember the story of a journalist teaching his students to write a ’sticky’ headline?

Many bright eyed faces were looking to learn from this famous journalist the secrets of writing news that people want to read. He gave them an assignment.

Write a headline for an article informing students that the school will be closed on Thursday due to an important quality analysis meeting involving the Principal and all the teachers.

The students came up with many different headlines: ‘Important meeting’, ‘Quality being analyzed’, ‘Finally, school focuses on quality’ etc. Then the journalist revealed his headline – ‘No school on Thursday

So simple! Yet, no one will miss it and they will have an eager want to read the article and find out why.
