Singapore is tops in city infrastructure, the Worldwide Quality of Living Survey 2009 by Mercer has found. This is thanks to Singapore’s recognised excellence in the areas of public transport, electricity and water supply, telecommunications and etc.

Singapore is also the top performer in Asia, rising six places to rank 26th among cities with the highest quality of living. In comparison, the next best performer in Asia, Japan, came in 35th place with its capital Tokyo.

Singapore is the only Asian city on the top 100 list to improve its ranking this year.
