The Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon (SCSM) is the most successful homegrown sporting event in Singapore that attracts elite runners and running enthusiasts locally and from around the world. This event is a highlight in Singapore’s international sporting calendar and attracted a record number of 50,000 in 2008.
The Singapore Sports Council (SSC) and the Singapore Athletic Association (SAA) are jointly organizing the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon 2009. In its eighth year of title sponsorship by Standard Chartered Bank, the event looks to attract 50,000 runners in 2009.
The event boosts a variety of race categories that caters to various age groups and fitness levels. From the Kids Dash, to the 10km races (individual & teams), Half Marathon and Full Marathon. It not only reaches out to the runners, but also the community at large with programmes designed for the supporters, volunteers, kids and charity.
Standard Chartered is offering a 15% discount on your registration fee (for all existing cardholders) and Run-For-Free – a $50 reward when you sign up for a new Standard Chartered Platinum or MANHATTAN Platinum Card. You may use the $50 reward to subsidise your marathon registration fee or spend it on anything you want. Promotion ends 30 November 2009.
