Swissotel Merchant Court Crab Bonanza Buffet from 5-21 Nov 2010

Since 2008, the Ellenborough Market Café at Swissôtel Merchant Court has won fans from all walks of life with its ultimate crab buffet.

Back by popular demand, the sensational Crab Bonanza Buffet sets to satiate all crustacean cravings with a galore of 20 crab delights for a limited period from 5 to 21 November.

Set off for a hearty meal with an array of salads, featuring Green Papaya Salad with Crabmeat. The refreshing combination of shredded crabmeat and the mildly sour fruit is an ideal way to start the gastronomic journey of a crab feast. The sweet and sour Prawn and Fruit Kerabu, which was popular among our diners when it was served, will also return to the menu during this period.

For a truly lip-smacking dining experience, savour the true flavour of the crustacean on ice such as the juicy Red Claws and chilled Teochew Cold Crab during dinner. Each morsel of crab flesh is also best enjoyed on its own. Whet your appetite further with Asian or Western hot soups including the piping-hot Crab Bisque and Bak Wan Kepiting (Crabmeat and Pork Ball Soup).

Crab lovers will not miss the all-time favourite Sri Lankan Chilli Crab with Fried Man Tou and mouth-watering Salted Egg Flower Crab. New crab creations include Nonya Steamed Mud Crab with Tau Cheu where a blend of sweetness from the crab meat and savoury soy beans make the delicacy even more enticing. Fans of Peranakan cuisine can look forward to new dishes like the Kepiting Assam (Stir-fried Crab with Assam) and spicy Otar-Otar Kepiting (Crab Otar).

Adventurous diners could catch our chef in action at the ‘live’ station, whipping up Crabmeat and Potato Murtabak. This innovative twist to the Indian staple is stuffed with succulent chunks of crabmeat and potatoes, pan-fried to perfection. Simply a treat that will surprise discerning taste buds.

Apart from the crab indulgence, diners have an additional choice of perennial dishes like the favourite Stir-fried Slipper Lobster in Black Bean Sauce and a rotation of local hot selection which includes Hokkien Mee and Char Kway Teow and international cuisine that will heighten the dining experience.

Tuck into a sumptuous spread of local and western desserts ranging from the cool Cheng Teng and Snow Fungus with Pear to the luscious Mango and Passion Fruit Mousse, Morning Apple Gèlee with Baby Apples and Bo Bo Cha Cha to complete the meal.

The crab bonanza feast is available for buffet lunch on Saturdays and Sundays and dinner daily.
