Singapore Art Show is a biannual national visual arts platform dedicated to celebrating and presenting local visual arts and artists. It provides an umbrella platform for different voices in the wider community – artists, art groups, institutions, private collections, art businesses and collectors – to catalyse new Singapore artistic content and build connectivity between the commerical and non-commercial aspects of the local visual arts industry.
It is also a key avenue for building public appreciation of our diverse visual arts practices as well as an opportunity to discover budding artists and develop the capabilities of young talents.
Now in its third edition, Singapore Art Show 2009 features our flagship platform – Singapore Art Exhibition & Prize – as well as 40 niche platforms and satellite events which span experimental projects to re-presentations of traditional and ethnic forms. Together, they present unique curatorial visions, art forms, accessible outreach activities and public art programmes.
