New York Times reports a high performance compact camera from Samsung,
Samsung just announced four new point-and-shoot cameras, and the most interesting by far is the TL500, high-performance compact camera that has a very bright f/1.8 lens and a comparatively large image sensor. If you are considering a digital camera, Olympus E-P1 deserves your attention. The Olympus E-P1 marks an innovative new era in digital imaging. The new Micro Four Thirds camera upholds the legacy of the celebrated PEN family of cameras, with the photographic optics of an SLR and the size and simplicity of a point and shoot.
Combining the still image quality of a digital single lens reflex (DSLR) with the A/V quality of both a High Definition camcorder and high-end audio recorder, the E-P1 is a virtual full-service imaging studio in one ultra-portable and stylishly retro body. With dozens of advanced features, the E-P1 makes documenting and sharing your everyday life easier and more creative than ever before.
Here is what New York Times says about E-P1,
So much beauty, such glorious pictures in good light, so much potential — but also so many eccentricities, lapses and misfires. You’ll fall in love with everything the E-P1 stands for — but you’ll mourn what might have been.
You can read the complete review here and slideshow here. Also, you may not want to miss DPR’s review here.
$800 USD is not cheap; but, Olympus E-P1 is a good choice if you have enough budget.
