The new IDA guidelines will apply to new or renewed contracts for all fixed-line, mobile and broadband services offered to consumers from 1 March 2010 onwards.
With these guidelines, the maximum contract period for all such services will not exceed 24 months. Consumers who sign on to contracts longer than three months and who terminate their contracts before the end of their contract period will no longer have to pay fixed early termination charges, but will see these charges decrease over time on a month-by-month basis as they serve out their contract. The National Environment Agency and Microsoft are pleased to launch Singapore’s first mobile weather service. Members of the public can now log on to Weather@SG on their mobile phones to get the latest weather information in Singapore. Weather@SG can be found at http://weather.nea.gov.sg.
Weather@SG provides the public with timely weather information any time, anywhere, right at their fingertips. From now on, planning a picnic, a run, or any other outdoor activities can be less stressful, thanks to the ability to predict the weather anywhere from three hours to three days in advance.
The weather information and forecasts are provided by Meteorological Services of NEA and are updated every five minutes. The mapping data, which are customised for use in Weather@SG, are created from Microsoft Bing Map (previously called Microsoft Virtual Map).

According to techfresh.net, Samsung released in Singapore the B7610 smartphone, a WinMobile pocket PC with QWERTY keyboard as well as Samsung Pixon 12 M8910 12MP camera, the Samsung Jackie B7320, and Android powered Samsung I7500.
MobileBond.com reported the release of mobile phone E72 and 5530 XpressMusic from Nokia. E72 is the successor to the successful E71 device, and is a messenger with a full QWERTY-keyboard. And, Nokia 5530 XpressMusic is the budget option of smartphone 5800, which does not support 3G.
