funtasia

Singapore Chinese Garden is not something new for Singapore residents. But, this Saturday, there is fun at Chinese Garden on the occasion of the Singapore Totalisator’s Board’s 20th anniversary and Singapore Pools’ 40th anniversary. They call it “FunTasia“; not sure how they came up with this name. Anyway, let’s see what they say about it:

FunTasia is a carnival organised by the Tote family to thank all our beneficiaries, supporters, volunteers, customers, business partners, friends, stakeholders and staff. It is the support that they have given through the years that have helped us to attain our goals of providing legalized gaming in a socially responsible manner, and channeling profits to good cause funding in Singapore.

When: 4pm-8pm, April 26, 2008
Where: Chinese Garden
What: music, songs, dance, and surprises.
More:

  • Performances: Chinese Theatre Circle, Bhaskar’s Arts Academy, Sri Warisan Som Said Performing Arts, the Finger Players and many other beneficiaries of the Board.
  • The highlight of the evening is a performance by the Singapore Chinese Orchestra, which will perform on a specially constructed floating stage in the central lake. The carnival will also provide a playground for children to be engaged through story-telling, a treasure hunt and puppetry performances.

How to get there:

  • By car or taxi;
  • Bus: SBS 154, 246 (Yuan Ching Road), or SBS 180 & 335 (Boon Lay way)
  • MRT to Chinese Garden station (EW25).
  • Free shuttle bus from Jurong East MRT Station to Singapore Chinese Garden (4pm – 5pm), and Singapore Chinese Garden to Jurong East MRT Station (7.45pm – 8.45pm).

Car parks:

  • Jurong Lake Park carpark
  • nearby HDB’s multi-level public carparks:
    • Blk 121A along Yuan Ching Road,
    • Blk 328A and 337 at Yuan Ching/Tah Ching Road
