24 Jan–9 Feb: Ox-picious Calves at Singapore Zoo This Chinese New Year

zoo-cny-09Usher in the Year of the Ox with traditional and auspicious highlights at the Singapore Zoo. With the God of Fortune, lion dance and photo opportunities with our calves, there’s plenty of ox-picious Chinese New Year family activities waiting for you at the Zoo.

Meet An An and Le Le, two very special calves and take a photograph with them to mark the beginning of a prosperous year.

Mingle with the God of Fortune and let him foretell your destiny. Be enthralled by the agile twin lions as they execute death-defying stunts on high poles.

Look out for the cheeky antics of the big head doll as you try to rub the lions’ heads for good luck.

There is much to moo about this Lunar New Year at Singapore Zoo. Children can look forward to an educational session which features impressive skull and horn specimens as they learn more about the ox family. Gain more insight about the illegal wildlife trade and find out about the differences between horns and antlers. Create your own origami cow or pick up an activity sheet about cow dung.
